Lynn will be completing her training in Thai Yoga Massage this year, she is excited to be incorporating elements of this into her classes. She is also going to announce news soon of her training for the Postnatal period, so watch this space.

Janet is returning to Brazil this April for 4 weeks, were she will be running professional training courses for Active Birth. This is her third visit to Brazil where she has helped to activate a movement to lower the Caesarean rate, which is the highest in the world. She has taught in Rio de Janiero, Sao Paulo and Curitiba and this year will be in Brasilia and Sao Paulo. Lynn will be in Bahamas this June at Dolphinesse maternity centre. This is a new venture founded by Valerie Valton. We are excited to have linked the Active Birth Centre with this wonderful centre. There will be a Pregnancy and a Postnatal Retreat with Lynn in June, you can read more on the Dolphinesse site here.
Recent visit to the Active Birth Centre of newly qualified Japanese midwives and their teachers for a workshop with Janet Balaskas. They are from the Kameda Institute of Nursing and Advanced Practice and the Kameda Medical Centre. Mrs Minako KUMAZAWA, deputy head-teacher, two midwives, Miss Sayuri KASAHARA, Miss Marisa NISHIHIRA and lecturer Mrs Sachiyo KUBO lecturer from the Kameda College of Health Sciences accompanied the group, together with their organiser and translator Hiromi Goldman who has also translated Janet‘s Active Birth book into Japanese.
